James Ndegwa is an experienced business leader with extensive expertise in governance, finance, and strategic management. He currently serves as Chairman of ICEA LION Group and First Chartered Securities Limited, a private investment holding company with interests across financial services, agriculture, property, and logistics.

He previously served as Chairman of the Capital Markets Authority (2015–2021), where he played a key role in strengthening Kenya’s financial regulatory environment.

James brings significant governance and investment oversight experience to Tsavo Trust, supporting the organisation in strengthening financial stewardship, risk management, and long-term sustainability in line with its conservation mission.

He holds an MA (Hons) from the University of Oxford and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) and the Insurance Institute of Kenya.
