Pillar 01

Wildlife Conservation

Goal 1 · Effective management and protection of the Tsavo Conservation Area, in support of the Kenya Wildlife Service.

The Tsavo Conservation Area covers more than 42,000 km², larger than Switzerland. It holds Kenya’s single largest elephant population, the world’s last viable population of Super Tuskers, and around a quarter of Kenya’s black rhinos. The Kenya Wildlife Service and the Wildlife Research and Training Institute lead conservation across this landscape, and, guided by a formal Memorandum of Understanding, Tsavo Trust is proud to support them in delivering their mandate, contributing aerial reconnaissance, anti-poaching and monitoring teams, infrastructure, water security and species monitoring.
